From two Scouts in Swineshead Church Hall to five sections sharing new adventures, this is the story of 7th Boston Scout Group. Since 2013, we have helped young people in Swineshead and the surrounding Boston area of Lincolnshire build skills, friendships and independence.

7th Boston Scout Group began in Swineshead in 2013, with just two Scouts meeting in the Church Hall. The aim was to provide a safe, sheltered space for young people who had nowhere else to go in the evenings.
That small beginning created something lasting: a place to belong, people to share experiences with and opportunities to discover new interests. Through Scouting, young people could develop practical skills, gain adventurous experiences and engage with a movement that reaches around the world.
As more families became involved, the group grew. Beaver, Cub and Explorer sections joined the Scouts, opening up opportunities for younger children and allowing the adventure to continue into the teenage years.
Our story has grown through the enthusiasm of young people, families and volunteers in our local community.

A new group tradition brings young people onto the stage, building confidence and raising important funds.
In September 2026, our Squirrel section opens for 4–6 year olds, bringing Scouting to younger children.
Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers meet regularly, serving Swineshead and the surrounding area.

Our Scout Show began in 2016 and has become a long-running tradition at 7th Boston. It gives young people the chance to develop stage skills, work together and build the confidence to perform.
The show also raises important funds for the group. It brings creativity and fundraising together, helping us continue to offer opportunities for young people in Swineshead and the surrounding area.
Alongside the show, our history includes community events, fundraising opportunities and participation in global jamborees. These experiences connect local Scouting with the wider world and give young people new perspectives.

In September 2026, we opened our Squirrel section for children aged 4–6. It marked another step in the group’s growth, giving more local families the opportunity to begin their Scouting journey.
Today, Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers meet regularly. From first friendships to greater independence, each stage offers young people room to grow and new experiences to share.
Our group has changed enormously since those first meetings with two Scouts, but our purpose remains the same: to give young people adventures, skills, friendships and independence. Learn about the group today or ask about joining us.
