JOTA Camp with 12th Lincoln Scouts

A joint camp for Swineshead and 12th Lincoln Scouts, with amateur radio, international friendships, badge activities and a choice of bouldering or the games warehouse.

Everything you need to know

About this event.

Join 7th Boston Swineshead Scouts and 12th Lincoln Scouts for a weekend of camping, practical challenges and conversations across the world at our Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) camp, from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October 2026.

Meet Scouts around the world

JOTA is the amateur-radio part of JOTA-JOTI, the world’s largest digital and radio Scout event. Scouts will have the chance to get on the air, practise their communication skills and discover what Scouting is like in other countries.

We hope to make contact with Scouts in countries such as Australia, the United States and South Africa. With different time zones to work around, some radio sessions may run late into the evening — a chance to experience the excitement of making an international connection.

Build skills and work towards badges

Across the weekend, Scouts will work towards their Communicator, International, Electronics and Survival Skills badges, combining radio activities with hands-on learning and camp life.

Choose your additional activity

Scouts can choose between bouldering and a visit to the games warehouse. These activities take place at the same time, so each young person must choose one. Please mark their preference on the nights-away consent form.

For parents and carers

Leader in charge: Jade. Return the completed nights-away form to Dannielle Blackhorse-Hull by 1 October 2026. Please provide emergency contacts and the medical, allergy, support and medication information requested on the form directly to the leaders. Keep the information section of the form for the event contact numbers.
Parents and carers arrange transport. Arrive in full uniform at 7pm on Friday; collection is at 2pm on Sunday.
Encourage your Scout to pack their own kit in a rucksack or sports bag they can carry; suitcases are not suitable for tents. Label every item. Camp beds are not permitted because of the space they take up.
Scouts may bring a mobile phone at their own risk. There are no phone-charging facilities. The group cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged personal belongings.
